Not really racism, xenophobia. I dated a guy for 2 weeks.He (European)assumed things about me because I was argentinean and he was always generalizing and also treated us Latin American people as ****(I really don't know why he was living in my county tho) so I kicked the **** of him out of my sight/life.
One time I was visiting my best friend in Seattle and him, myself, his female friend, and a gay dude she knows all went out to some gay clubs. When we were heading out in my car I made a comment about how there's a lot of cute asian guys in Seattle, and the other gay dude literally goes "Ew!" () and proceeds to tell me that he's "team white" and that he doesn't think guys of other races are attractive.
It was honestly disgusting, I couldn't believe the **** that was coming out of his mouth.
I don't think it's racism. As someone else said I think it's about preferences. What bothers me is how people only react when white people only go for white people when black and Asian people do it all the time.

The "ew" and "team white" comments where disgusting. But, apart from that, I fail to see whats wrong about not being attracted to a race.
Its racist if the reasons you dont like a race goes past that your unattracted to their appearance. If you start taking into account stereotypes thats when its racist.

Im guessing you are talking about dating. I dont really think its racist to not be attracted to a certain skin colour.
Many times people think that the gay community would be more accepting of people of color because gays are themselves are a minority, but that's not always the case. In fact, racism against gay people of color from white gays can often be WORSE.
Both straight and gay people are racist, but gay people have a set of unique dynamics so a conversation about racism specific to gay people is warranted.
It's a huge issue and I can't count the amount of times I've heard disparaging comments about Asians (always from white gays). I've also heard many say "I'd only date a white guy", and coming from whites it's disgusting racism, coming from a POC (person of colour) it's really sad because it's internalized racism.
There's also huge amounts of racism in media representation of gay men, it's usually only white men who are portrayed as being gay and the majority of celebrities who feel comfortable enough to come out are white.
