United World Chart Albums (May 8-15, 2009)
Bob Dylan, one of the highest influential singer / songwriter of the rock-& pop-era, bows easily atop of the global album chart this week with his new effort 'Together Through Life'. The album sold nearly 240.000 copies in its first week at retail. His former set 'Modern Times' held also no.1 (week 37, 2006) but sold 150.000 copies more in the opening-week. Kat-Tun's fourth album 'Break The Records (By You & For You)' checked in at no.2 and selling just over 200.000 units, according to Oricon. All 4 albums and 10 singles of the band, which have been published until now, went to the top spot in Japan. Last week's chart-topper, Depeche Mode's 'Sounds Of The Universe' throws down at no.3, after a massive 68% decrease to sales of 129.000 copies. The 'COLOR="Red"]Hannah Montana[/COLOR]' soundtrack sails at no.4 (down 10% to 125.000 copies). Rounds out the top five is Lady GaGa's 'The Fame', which lost a minor 2% and sold 118.000 units last week, a total of 2 million so far. So glad for GaGa, she went platinum this week!!!!!!!
Does anyone know the sales of Taylor’s “Fearless”, Beyoncé’s “I Am… Sasha Fierce” and Pink’s “Funhouse?
These three girls are selling, and I think they should be around 2x platinum.
