Kelly, lyric soprano, went for a mid-tempo light big band jingle (nodding to swing/doo wop compositions of the 40s). Full, vibrant and festive vocals.. Peaking at a powerful G5..with those trademarked smoky, rock tinged metallic belts taking center stage! This is by far her best vocal performance of the year. The voice sounded well supported, incredibly free with a beautiful bloom in the soprano tessitura.. vocals span a little over an octave.. Eb4-G5
Jojo, lyic mezzo soprano. opts for a more solemn, more brooding approach. A tearful power ballad that shows off the diversity and color of her voice. Grounded in Blues/contemporary RnB stylings, Jojo weaves through the vocal registers with relative ease and uncanny speed and precision. Her agility is her secret weapon here. Lots of vocal jumps and leaps into her bright, girly head voice, rich, full upper belts (where the voice retains a lot of warmth) and the dark depths of her full, resonant lower register. All handled with sympathetic care great emotive nuances in her composition. ..hats of to her for creating a creative and ambitious vocal arrangement!
