Why is Rihanna forgiven for so many underperfoming singles?
While lady gaga and katy are being dragged for singles failing to make it into the top 10, why does it seem that people are ignoring the countless number of singles that underperformed from Rihanna?
Is it because of her lack of promo being an excuse for the underperformance?
Her underpermances are due strictly to her not promoting and moving on from eras so quickly, which is more forgivable than having a flop that was promoted to the high heavens which Katy and Gaga have done in the past, especially Gaga.
You can ask that about every other fave. Most artists have a successful lead single then a weak second single and hopefully a strong third. Katy had an anonymity with Teenage Dream.
Meanwhile Rihanna last album had a #1, a song that didn't hit #1 but is her second highest selling single, and a single that had little to no promo except for a video that came out 10 months later and still managed to sell 3 million copies.
Cuz Rihanna's flops generally did not get any promo (like Right Now, Cockiness)
Cuz Rihanna can easily smash with the next song again. It's no indication her career is declining.
Cuz Rihanna never fully flops everywhere. Man Down flopped in the US but it was a #1 single in France for example. She's so global

And also because she's the queen of pop

Some were exclusive urban singles, others didnt even have a video let alone a performance.
so you guys agree that the lack of promo is indeed a valid excuse for underperformance?

Yaaas even if she flops in the U.S. the queen is smashing in some other part of the globe like the global queen she is. Even her non singles smash in other parts of the world with absolutely 0 promotion
