I related to so many of the posts in this thread, it was basically a recap on my childhood.
I thought I'd make a trend where everyone can share things that they see as representing their upbringing to see similarities.
For example, Sundays being for going to church and my mom cleaning to depressing Jose Jose.
Watching the Selena movie at least twice a year. (and a few others, one about the Virgen de Guadalupe I can't remember the name of but it's probably that, also a Jesus one, and to a much lower extent something with La India María.)
Tia Pelucas, the original Gaga. Rubí being all one can inspire to as a young child.
SN: I don't ever use the word hispanic, but it seems like a standard, so I went with it.
Also, never having the same eating times as anyone i knew who was white, really though.
Preach. I relate to everything you said. Selena was my queen though. I used to bop to Bidi Bidi Bom Bom and Como La Flor when I was younger.
I go to a club like almost every weekend... Its pretty much twerk nation, mostly Hispanics.. Gets very very crowded and they play Serena as it's about to close.. I love it
When Selena was on, everybody cries at the end.
Mariah Carey was every Hispanic's favorite English speaking diva next to Celine Dion
Baths in the kitchen sink till I was 1
Beef Patties religiously
All the kids shared a room, except the girl.
"A Puro Dolor" by Son By 4 is THE best Spanish ballad of all time, always played.
The list goes on
There was a telenovela that had like 5 hot 20 female somethings who were always in night clubs that engraved in me the iconic "No seas naca," but I can't remember the name of it. I saw it on Univision again at like 4 AM once a few years ago and was so happy.

I don't know what to say, should I mention La rosa de guadalupe?
Do please, I kii at all the miracles, but the best one with the boy who fell out the 29th story window trying to get his bear. I ****ing lost it, I was so emotionally distressed by it.
