As I was looking to do something else than just simply showing off my extremely homosexual and female-heavy taste by saying Stars Dance was one of my favourite albums of 2013 (it may or may not have become that after a BIT of revamping on that **** tracklist), I decided to focus on the popstars rather than the songs and the albums. I went for this because I felt 2013 was a year about the NAME. A lot of big people released music this year. (Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Britney, Daft Punk, Beyoncé etc etc) While 2012 was a year marked by many one-hit wonders (poor Carly Rae Jepsen), 2013 marked the return of the BIG pop star. And what better ways to reminisce than to follow my incredibly messy Best Of?

Over the course of the next few days (this could also be weeks not sure yet), I will be revealing THREE lists (both contain 13 popstars as this was the year 2013, so clever of me I know): a worst of, a best of, AND (drumroll) a

Most Promising Pop Stars (For 2014 And The Nearby Future) Based On Their Output In 2013

list. Ofcourse I will carefully elaborate for every individual popstar or group why I thought they were extremely **** or amazing.

Okay this guy had my expectations set PRETTY high when at the beginning of the year he put this video on his website announcing his return to music. Then came Soot N Thai and I was moderately dissapointed. Meerah was absolutely terrible however. That production was very ''throwback''/''reminiscent of the past'' in a ''this probably was a rejected demo from his second album but now it has become a work of ART'' kind of way. And last and VERY much least came that absolutely COMA-inducing album. My conscience refused to handle 8 minutes of that one screechy ass song let alone an entire album clocking in at 70 minutes.

He should have had Phagrell on board. Timbaland has officially lost his ability to create fresh, up-to-date songs. Everything that he did after 2007 just sounds awkwardly ****. I haven't even heard any song of the second volume of The 20/06 Zzzzzperience in full yet, it is THAT bad.

(I must confess my friend still convinced me to spend a shitload of money on his concert, he had better serve me some FutureSex flawlessness or I'll be spending three hours at the damn toilet)

BEYONCÉ



Yes, this woman released one of the best albums of 2013 out of the blue and yes I spent my coins on that flawless physical edition BUT let's NOT forget the way in which this woman TORTURED us all the other 347 days of the year 2013.

At the beginning of the year, everyone and their dog was assuming SOMETHING music-related would happen as this girl was having the biggest performance of her career. To everyone's surprise not even the truckload of HYPE the 4lop era could not even think of in its wildest dreams led to something related to well the MUSIC.

Then came Groan Woman, which everyone assumed would be the lead single to some kind of fifth album as it was featured in her Pepsi commercial. NO. She also went on tour. For no apparent reason. She ALSO teased us with what might have been one of the best songs in her career, Standing On The Sun. If we had heard it in normal quality we might have realised that. Now I'm stuck with LQ ass YouTube-to-Mp3 rips. Damn.

Please stop doing this to our poor souls, Beyoncé. It is not fair.

MARIAH CAREY



2013 was a weird ass year for ms. Carey. After 2012's triumphantly **** single, she started off with a mediocre Siamonds copy-paste effort some might know as Almost Home. Everyone's expectations were as low as Memoirs' fifth-week global sales.

Then came #BEAUTIFUL (ft. Miguel). It was quite amazing. After an absolutely terrible one-two punch the woman finally released a GOOD song. It was a massive sigh of relief. Ofcourse some awkwardly **** performances followed (let's not forget how she hired Ariana to prerecord these BET awards whistles) but what would post-Glitter Mariah be without some occasional trainwrecks?

Either way a #15 peak on the Hot 100 suggested an album release or at least an amazing second single but NO. Okay, she did have her injury, but she should not have that little bit of hype she got die so easily. And for yallz information the FOURTH album-free single (The Art Of Letting Go Of Relevance) was dropped in early November and it was again unexpectedly ****. I'm starting to fear the rest of this woman's career.



Letting go ain't ee-say, it's just exceedingly hurtfuuul~~

Ugh I'm constantly rooting for Mariah but she keeps failing to deliver.
