Lady Gaga or Rihanna? Who will be considered this generations #1 popstar?



Ok, so in the 'Will Gaga Overtake Britney' thread I saw someone suggest that it would have been a better idea to compare Gaga and Rihanna in who will be considered this generations #1 popstar, and I feel that it is fitting, seeing as they currently are the biggest popstars worldwide. The user posted saying that in every generation, the public has a habit of only choosing one star in a single generation to be labelled a 'legend.' Like, Madonna/Cyndi etc. So, out of Lady Gaga and Rihanna, who will be considered our generations #1 popstar and out of the two who will then go on to be placed in the same bracket as Madonna, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson? + don't say, "someone new could come along and eclipse both of them!," were not dumb, we know that could happen, but, for the threads sake, make your decision out of Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

Someone knew WILL come along and eclipse them.

I think Gaga out of those two, though I hope someone better comes along.

Also, I disagree about our generation forgetting Cyndi.

She isn't still popular in mainstream music (how many stars are at her age?), but she's certainly remembered.

Rihanna has arguably increased her popularity with every era, while Lady Gaga
had her peak with "Bad Romance" and, unsurprisingly, continues to steadily decline.
