PPL today exclusively reveals the top ten most played pop songs of 2012.
This chart is compiled from PPL data that includes not just radio play but the use of recordings on television and in venues such as pubs, clubs, shops, bars etc.
The top ten most played pop songs of 2012 are:
1) Jessie J – Domino
2) Gotye (Feat. Kimbra) – Somebody That I Used To Know
3) Emeli Sandé – Next To Me
4) Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger
5) David Guetta (Feat. Sia) – Titanium
6) Olly Murs – Dance With Me Tonight
7) Kelly Clarkson – Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)
8) Rihanna & Calvin Harris – We Found Love
9) Carly Rae Jepsen – Call Me Maybe
10) Maroon 5 – Payphone
Jessie J’s Domino was her second number one single and nominated for Best British single at The 2013 Brit Awards. The single was also very successful in the US, reaching number six in the Billboard Hot 100.

These songs will undoubtedly stay with us for a long time.”
PPL also today announced their set of impressive financial results of 2012. Total PPL licence fee income grew to £170.8 million, an 11% increase from 2011.
