Billboard 200 Albums (February 13-20, 2013)
Tim McGraw, Red and Coheed & Cambria also earn Top 10 debuts
Josh Groban's "All That Echoes" arrives at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, selling 145,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's the singer's third No. 1 album, following 2003's "Closer" and 2007's top-seller, "Noel." His last studio release, 2010's "Illuminations," debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 191,000 sold in its first week.
Groban is one of the few artists in the past year to tally a No. 1 album without ever having a top 40 hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The others are Chris Tomlin, tobyMac and Jack White (as a solo artist).
While Groban has claimed 17 entries on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart, he's only visited the overall, all-genre Hot 100 chart four times. His highest-charting Hot 100 hit thus far is 2008's "The Prayer" (live), a duet with Celine Dion, which reached No. 70.
31-year old Groban hasn't required crossover top 40 hit singles in order to sustain his music sales, as he reaches consumers through TV performances and other non-traditional means. Impressively, Groban has sold 21.7 million albums in the U.S., making him one of the biggest selling male pop vocalists of the SoundScan era (1991-present).
At No. 2 on the Billboard 200 this week is another new arrival: Tim McGraw's "Two Lanes of Freedom." The country star's first album for Big Machine Records sold 107,000 and marks his 15th top 10. On the Top Country Albums chart, it starts at No. 1 -- his 14th leader.
The new "Now 45" compilation enters at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, shifting 87,000. The last "Now" set, "Now 45," launched with 99,000 at No. 2 last November. All of the regular, numbered, "Now" albums have reached the top 10, and all but the first debuted in the top 10.
Mumford & Sons' "Babel," which won the Grammy Award for album of the year on Feb. 10, jumps 7-4 with 54,000 (up 50%). Expect the sales for the set to grow next week, after a full seven days' worth of impact from the show is felt.
Andrea Bocelli's "Passione" slips a moderate 45% in its second week, dipping three rungs to No. 5 with 51,000. That's a less-harsh drop than that of Justin Bieber's "Believe Acoustic," which tumbles 1-6 with a 79% erosion (43,000). The slide might have been stronger had it not been for his double-duty as the host and musical guest on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" last weekend (Feb. 9).
Rock band Red debuts at No. 7 with "Release the Panic" (41,000), marking the second top 10 for the group. Their last studio set, 2011's "Until We Have Faces," charged in at No. 2 two years ago, moving 43,000 in its first week.
Bruno Mars is another beneficiary of the Grammy Awards, as his "Unorthodox Jukebox" gains by 10% -- but is pushed back 6-8 with just under 41,000. He performed the album's lead single, "Locked Out of Heaven," with Sting, on the show.
Coheed and Cambria's new "The Afterman: Descension" bows at No. 9 with almost 41,000 as well. It's the rock band's fifth top 10 and comes hot on the heels of "The Afterman: Ascension," which debuted and peaked at No. 5 last October (49,000 first week).
Closing out the top 10 on the Billboard 200 is the Lumineers' self-titled album. It gets pushed back a slot to No. 10, but earns a 21% sales gain (to 39,000). The act was nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and performed its single "Ho Hey" on the broadcast.

Mumford & Sons' "Babel," which won the album of the year trophy, is the week's biggest selling album directly linked to the awards. It sold 54,000 in the week ending Feb. 10 -- a 50% gain compared to the previous week. The band also earned two performance slots on the show. Mumford performed the album's hit single "I Will Wait" in one, and then participated in an ensemble memorial tribute.
Speaking of "I Will Wait," the song earns the largest unit gain on the Digital Songs chart, flying from No. 34 to No. 12 with 104,000 (up by 48,000 units -- a 116% increase).
"Babel" should continue to grow in sales throughout the week and onto next week's Billboard 200 chart.
Back on the Billboard 200, performer and nominee Bruno Mars gains with his album "Unorthodox Jukebox" (8-10 with 41,000; up 10%). He performed "Locked Out of Heaven" on the show, with Sting, and the tune earned a 5% sales gain in downloads (109,000 for the week total).
At No. 10 on the Billboard 200 is performer and nominee the Lumineers' self-titled set, pushed back one slot with 39,000 (but up 21%). The "Grammy Nominees 2013" compilation climbs 14-11 (37,000; up 52%) and show-opener Taylor Swift gains by 20% with her "Red" album (10-12 with 35,000).
In the top 50 on the Billboard 200 chart, a total of 18 albums sport gains courtesy of either a performance or a broadcast win.
Fun.'s "Some Nights" rises 25-14 with 30,000 (up 87%) after winning two trophies (best new artist, song of the year) and a performance of the set's "Carry On."
Other album gainers include: Rihanna's "Unapologetic" (19-17; 24,000; up 27%), Maroon 5's "Overexposed" (32-20; 22,000 - up 59%), Adele's "21" (18-22; 22,000 - up 14%), Hunter Hayes' self-titled effort (37-27; 19,000 - up 46%) and the Black Keys' "El Camino" (41-29; 18,000 - up 72%). Ed Sheeran, who performed with Elton John, rises 28-32 with his "+" album (up 11%).
Also sporting increases: Alicia Keys' "Girl On Fire" (31-33; 17,000 - up 16%), Mumford & Sons' "Sigh No More" (44-39; 14,000 - up 37%), Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" (34-41; 14,000 - up 5%), Alabama Shakes' "Boys & Girls" (79-43; 13,000 - up 149%), Frank Ocean's "Channel Orange" (85-46; 12,000 - up 140%) and Kelly Clarkson's "Hits: Chapter One" (49-48; 11,000 - up 20%).
All of the above-mentioned acts performed on the show, save for Adele, who won the first award of the night and also presented one category.

BULLET POINTS FOR MY VALENTINE: With post-Grammy sales still ruling the chart, new releases are pretty light this week. Here are this week's key debuts:
Bullet For My Valentine (RCA) 30-35k
Smash (Columbia) 15-20k
Oh, and we just want to say that having a restraining order taken out against you right before Valentine's Day is incredibly romantic. At least that's how we choose to see it, Dolores. (2/13p)

_________________________________________Mumford & Sons' 'Babel' Set for Return to No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart
By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | February 12, 2013 7:13 PM EST
In the glow of its Grammy Awards win for album of the year, Mumford & Sons' Babel is set to return to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart next week.
Industry sources suggest that the album could sell 150,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Feb. 17 -- easily making it the top seller on next week's Billboard 200.
On the current week's chart, which reflected the sales week ending the night of the Grammy Awards (Feb. 10), the album jumped 7-4 on the Billboard 200 with 54,000 (up 50%), according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Babel is also benefitting from two new deluxe versions of the album that were released on Feb. 5. The first, available exclusively at Target, includes three bonus live tracks. A second version, dubbed the Gentlemen of the Road edition, was widely released and boasts 12 extra live cuts.
A year ago, in the week after the Grammy Awards, the biggest winner from the night -- Adele -- saw her 21 album earn a whopping 207% gain. It held at No. 1 that week, moving from 237,000 to a stunning 730,000 sold. The diva earned six trophies at the 2012 Grammy Awards ceremony, and also made her return to the performance stage after throat surgery.
This year, unlike at the 2012 ceremony, there wasn't one single artist that stole the spotlight. Thus, we'll see the impact of the show spread across a number of acts -- including Mumford & Sons.
Bruno Mars, fun. and the Lumineers all look to be the biggest sellers this week -- in terms of Grammy-related albums. All four were performers and nominees on the show, with fun. taking home both the song of the year and best new artist trophies.
Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox might sell around 80,000 (up from 41,000 this week and 37,000 a week previous), while fun. might shift 70,000 with Some Nights (up from 30,000 this week and 16,000 a week ago). While Mars was only up for one trophy (and it wasn't presented on-air), his performance was arguably one of the highlights of the show. He performed the album's "Locked Out of Heaven" with Sting and then segued into Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved" with Rihanna, Ziggy Marley and Damian Marley.
Meanwhile, the Lumineers' self-titled set might shift somewhere in the 70,000 range -- up from 39,000 this week and 32,000 a week earlier.e
