Some math and stats regarding Taylor and the Hot 100 (I apologize in advance for any mistakes I may have made. It's late ):
Between her 4 studio albums (and their deluxe editions), the Christmas EP, the Beautiful Eyes EP, the songs she's done for soundtracks, her featured appearances, her charity songs, and "Shake It Off," Taylor has released 86 (by my count, though I could be off) original songs (i.e. not remixes or demos of other songs). 60 have reached the Hot 100. That is a batting average (so to speak) of .698, which is amazing. It's more unusual for a song she releases to NOT make the Hot 100 than for it to appear on the chart. Some more facts:
- Every song she has ever been a featured artist on (Two Is Better Than One, Highway Don't Care, and Both of Us)* has reached the Hot 100.
- In fact, every one has been a Top 40 hit.
- Every single she has ever released has reached the Hot 100.
- Only one failed to make the Top 40 (The Story of Us peaked at 41 [So close!]).
- Only two songs from Fearless failed to make the Hot 100: Tell Me Why and The Best Day.
- All 5 original bonus tracks on the Fearless Platinum Edition charted on the Hot 100.
- She has placed an incredible 26 non-singles in the Hot 100 including 12 in the top 40.
- If This Was Movie, which was not a single and was not even on it's album proper (it was only on the Deluxe Edition) charted at #10.
- In that vain, of the 10 original, non-single bonus tracks on the Deluxe editions of Fearless, Speak Now, and Red, 8 have charted on the Hot 100.
- Every song from Speak Now appeared in the Hot 100, the only album ever released that can claim that.
- Even the three original bonus tracks on the Deluxe Edition charted.
- She has written 5 songs for movies. All 5 have not only made the Hot 100, but all 5 went Top 40.
- Shake It Off is her 44th Top 40 hit*, moving her past Aretha Franklin and into sole possession of 2nd place among women (only Madonna has more with 49).
- Taylor has the record for most top 10 debuts with 12. She already held the record with 11 before Shake It Off.
- Taylor holds the record for most songs by a female artist in the Hot 100 in one week (11 the week Speak Now released).
* For some reason, Billboard does not credit Taylor as a featured artist on Half of My Heart. This is very odd. Especially since they counted it as a Top 40 hit for Taylor when it debuted. If they were to count it, it would mean Taylor would have 61 Hot 100 charting songs and 45 Top 40 hits. Also of note, she is a co-writer, but not a featured artist, on Kellie Pickler's Best Days of Your Life.
Notes:
