As Monster is proving once again, Rihanna is really THAT entertainer who can smash the charts without trying.
In 7 years homegurl pulled 13 #1s and countless more top 10.
Yet she barely even tries. Some of her hits smashes way before she bothers shooting a video. Some of her smashes have yet to have a single live performance

Ttt and Una both had HUGE URBAN #1s song that were ruling without a video or a single performance.
Some like Love Sooong were smashing without even being released at all.

Her tour is grossing $140Million and sellout stadiums when ICON R doesn't even bother going on 100dates, shows up late and take pictures of herself partying while canceling some shows.
People here always criticized her live performance yet her average gross and attendance per show is superior to the likes of Pink who everybody agrees is an incredible performer and is very professional

She never promote her eras for over a year and yet all her albums hit platinum and sell pver 3.5million we.

Rihanna didn't even bother doing her hair to receive her ICON AWARDS.

So the question is: WHY CAN ICON R smash so hard without even trying?

Because her songwriters are trying. She only has one all-round smash era.

Because she is written into the history books next to Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and the Beatles. A legend and an ICON in the truest sense. It just comes naturally.

No, because she always try to pay for the best hit-makers to write hit songs for her. Right Now and What Now weren't smashing either. Also, having 7 albums in 7 years is kind of trying hard to leave a legacy.

Her success is still impressive tho, I just wouldn't say it comes "without even trying".

Honestly I'd love to see how she'd get by if her songwriting and production team left. If other people didn't try for her then she'd flop beyond words.

Good and catchy songs and her presence. I mean you can use the excuse of her songwriting team does most of the work but Rihanna makes magic with the songs and she makes them hits so you gotta give credit when it's due
