Welcome to the official thread for Katy's second concert tour, the place where you'll find videos, pictures, experiences and more interesting deets about this sugary ride!
Start date February 20, 2011 End date November 8, 2011

I guess I'm looking forward to making music videos on this new album ... and I'm really excited about incorporating the look and the idea of some of the songs on tour and making a massive production of it. I'm gonna want a lot of visuals. I want it to be 10 times better than when I was on tour last.

Touring is no longer an ordinary thing where you play an instrument in jeans and a T-shirt. It has some pizazz these days, and I'm definitely bringing the pizazz with a lot of bells and whistles. The show has a Broadway feel to it. It's got a storyline that's going to be very interesting, kind of loosely based on my life, but a cartoon version. I have this whole thing in my show that is about candy and cupcakes and meat. It's both really sweet and shocking, but not in a sexual way. It's the first concert that's going to smell good. It's going to smell like you're in cotton candy heaven. It's a fun little nuance. I am a woman of detail, and you will be seeing that — even down to the 15 outfit changes I'm doing in concert.
- Katy Perry on The California Dreams Tour
BACKGROUND
Quote:
While promoting her recent album, Perry express she wanted her upcoming tour to be very visual. On her Twitter account, she stated, "I hope that it's going to engage all of your senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch". The tour was officially announced in October 2010 by various media outlets including Perry's official website, in conjunction with the release of her third single, Firework. In 2011, Perry annouced her North American leg during a live chat on social network Facebook. She then responded the tour will be very "super girl power" as vocalists Robyn, Yelle and Marina and the Diamonds will open her shows during the various legs. Perry further stated she will actively participate with fans during the tour on various social networks including Facebook and Twitter.

She and Rihanna are going to be going head to head with ticket sales for the North American Leg but katy has the advantage because she announced her dates way before and Rih toured last year. Should be interesting to see how both tour pan out for both.

Well, its capacity must be around 9-10k. It isn't really hard to sell out that.

Campo Pequeno's capacity is actually 7,000 I found Everything Is New (Promoter) decision of putting worldwide superstar Katy Perry in such a small place she could easily go to Pavilhão Atlantico and have around 16,000 as audience.
They are stupid. Anyway it's gonna be VERY crowded!

I don't think Katy would have sold out the Pavilhao. Its capacity is up to 20k.

I'm Portuguese and I'll be going to the concert tomorrow.
It's not sold out, I was at Fnac just a couple of hours ago and they still had plenty of floor seats.
Gaga sold out 21 thousand tickets at Pavilhão Atlântico. Katy would never sell out the Pavilhão. She's not that popular around here.
