I don't think so to be honest. Lets compare Beyonce's latest album sales and Katy's single sales off Prism.
Beyonce dropped an album and sold 600k+ in a couple days it has earned so much recognition for the album for how innovative it is. While Katy continues to sell millions of copies of her singles and she has yet to receive the one thing her singles should have earned her, a Grammy award. Prism has not received any critical acclaim and neither have her singles It kinda did nothing for her image Beyonce on the other hand has been racking up acclaim and respect from her peer.
