This is a thread is dedicated to anything related to the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise.
The global sensation "Yu-Gi-Oh!" --which literally means "King of Games" in Japanese-- started as a manga of the same name, which was published for the very first time on September 30th, 1996 on the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in Japan. The manga started to be published on a weekly basis, and it still does as of now.
After the success of a chapter containing a Card Game (back then known as Magic and Wizards), Konami created the OCG. The first OCG Booster Pack, Vol. 1, was released for the first time on February 4, 1999. After the success, Konami created the TCG for non-Japanese speaking countries. The very first TCG Booster Pack was relesed on March 8, 2002, titled "Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon".
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (OCG/TCG) is right now the most sold card game in history, as it has already surpassed the previous king of card games "Magic the Gathering". Yu-Gi-Oh! got the Guinness Records for the Largest Card Game Tournament ever and for the Best Selling Card Game ever.
Yu-Gi-Oh! legacy consists in the iconic Card Game, 6 Animes, 4 Movies, lots of video games for almost each console and of course millions of products like clothes, toys, books, etc,.

Do you wanna learn how to perform a Ritual Summon, Fusion Summon, Synchro Summon, Xyz Summon and Pendulum Summon? click in the collapse tag below.
How to do those summons
RITUAL SUMMON
In order to perform a Ritual Summon, you need to have in your hand the Ritual Monster you're attempting to Summon and the corresponding Ritual Spell Card; first of all you need to activate the Ritual Spell Card, if it wasn't negated now you need to Sacrifice monsters from your side of the field or hand whose total Levels meet the requirements of the Ritual Spell Card (Normally you can tribute monsters whose total levels are at least the level of the Ritual Monster). After the Ritual Summon is successfully perform, send the Ritual Spell Card to the graveyard.
Let's use Hungry Burger as the example:
As you can see "Hungry Burger" is a LV 6 monster, so you will need to Sacrifice monsters whose total levels are 6 or more.
Activate the Ritual Spell Card "Hamburger Recipe" and sacrifice monsters:
+ +
As you can see, the total levels of those cards is 7, so it is enough to Ritual Summon a Level 6 Ritual Monster.
FUSION SUMMON
To Fusion Summon you need a "Fusion" Spell/Trap Card or mostly "Polymerization" in your hand. With "Polymerization" you must also have the Fusion Material Monsters listed on the Fusion Monster in your hand or on your side of the field (you can also use a Fusion Substitute Monster to substitute only one of the materials). You must then activate "Polymerization", select the Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, send the Fusion Materials to the Graveyard and Fusion Summon the monster to your side of the field.
There are a lot of "Fusion" Spell cards besides "Polymerization", each one has its own different rule, but basically each Fusion Summon is performed in the same way; other "Fusion" Spell Cards include: "Miracle Fusion", "Instant Fusion", "Dark Fusion", "Cyberdark Impact!", "El Shaddoll Fusion", "Fusion Gate", "Gem-Knight Fusion", among others.
Let's use "Bickuribox" as an Example:
As you can see its Fusion Material Monsters are "Crass Clown" and "Dream Clown". All you need is to have "Polymerization" and Crass Clown and Dream Clown OR either of the Fusion Material Monsters and a Fusion Substitute Monster in your hand or field. You activate Polymerization and send the Fusion Materials from your hand or field to the graveyard and from your Extra Deck you Fusion Summon the correct Fusion Monster.

SYNCHRO SUMMON
We'll have "Black Rose Dragon" as the example:
As you see it's a LV 7 Monster. Then it means that it needs 1 Tuner + 1 or more Non-Tuner Monsters whose levels sum 7.
For example, let's take 1 Tuner monster of LV 4, like "Rose, Warrior of Revenge".
With that monster we only need 3 more levels (because 4+3=7).
We can either take:
One Level 3 Monster like "Dragon Zombie" OR
One Level 2 Monster like "Zombie Clown" + One Level 1 Monster like "Skull Servant" OR
Three Level 1 Monsters like three "Skull Servants"
+
OR
+ +
And in that way you get your LV 7 Synchro Monster.
The Non-Tuner Monster can be either kind of monster, (except Xyz because those do not have a LV) Normal, Effect, Ritual, Fusion, Tokens or even other Synchro Monsters.
XYZ SUMMON
Let's say you want a Rank 3 Xyz Monster, like "Grenosaurus".
Its summoning material is listed as "2 Level 3 Monsters".
So the only thing you need are 2 level 3 Monsters, they can be any kind of monsters (except other Xyz cuz they do not have levels, NEITHER tokens).
So you can take 2 "Dragon Zombies" and Xyz Summon your dinosaur:
+
The monsters don't need to be the same one, of course, you can use two different level 3 monsters, like:
+
PENDULUM SUMMON
Let's take as an example "Magician of Astromancy" and "Magician of Chronomancy".
In order to perform a Pendulum Summon you need to activate those cards from your hand as if they were Spell Cards. They will be placed in the Pendulum Zone on the Field.
Once both are at the same time in both of your Pendulum Zones you can perform a Pendulum Summon.
It's really easy, you only need to declare you are performing a Pendulum Summon and then you can summon as many Effect, Normal and Pendulum monsters from your hand and/or Pendulum Monsters from your Extra Deck whose levels are between the blue Pendulum Scale of the Pendulum Monster in the left Pendulum Zone and the red Pendulum Scale of the Pendulum Monster in the right Pendulum Zone.
So in this example "Magician of Chronomancy" is in the left, his Blue Pendulum Scale is 8.
"Magician of Astromancy" is in the right, his Red Pendulum Scale is 1.
This means you can Pendulum Summon from your hand as many monsters as possible of the levels 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Let's say you have your field completely empty, so you will be able to Pendulum Summon up to 5 monsters, in this example you could summon these:
There are several automated programs that allow you to play Duel Monsters just like in the video games (Every card automatically uses its effect. Stats, LP, everything is automatically calculated).
This allows us to have an amazing dueling experience, since we don't have to worry about activating effects at wrong moments and thanks to this automated system, cheating is impossible.
Below, I will list some of my personal favorite programs (I own all of them, so if you wanna duel me, lemme know. In the ones that you can search for users, my username is always Porygon2z).
YGOPro
Most people see this as the original one. In order to download this one you need to create an account on YGOpro via this link:
http://www.ygopro.co/Download.aspx. After you created your account, you can proceed to download the game.
It has an AI tha allows you to play against some scripted decks or your own. However the AI is still in beta so it makes some dumb plays.
It's important to note that this program runs in both Windows and Mac.
DevPro
This one has some extra features that make it smooth and awesome:
-It contains a ranking system. Your rank/level goes up or down depending on your wins or loses. But don't worry, you can evade to lose or win rank by playing in "Unranked" mode.
-It has a built-in chat system. There you can chat with friends. You need to go to the search tab and write a name; the program searches and if there is someone with that name, you can chat or challenge them to a duel.
-You can view/spectate started duels. Contrary to YGOPro that only allows you to view duels if you clicked on "spectate" just before the duel started.
-There's no AI mode.
However, this is for Windows only.
You can get it here:

YGOPro The Dawn of a New Era
This is like a fusion of YGOPro and DevPro and my personal favorite:
-It allows you to have and Avatar while dueling. Just like in the video games.
-It has a competent AI. However you cannot duel against your own recipes yet.
-It can be customized in an easier way.
-A better built-in Chat system.
-A chat room where everyone can chat with everyone.
-A list that tells you who is online.
-Just like DevPro, a ranking system. In the same way, you gain or lose points by losing or winning. But you can play "Unranked" as well.
-You can have your own profile so people can know you better.
-You can play turbo duels.
-Lots of puzzles so you can test your skills.
Here you can download the program:

YGOPro Phoenix
This one is in Spanish. If you know Spanish and want to play against people that only speak Spanish this is the best option for you!
It contains the same as the original YGOPro.
You can get it here:

Dueling Network
Iif you don't like games automated games (for whatever weird reason), you can try Dueling Network. A place where you can duel a lot of people, but everything in the duels is manual, so this way you can feel that you're playing with real-paper cards!
