Sighted in different areas around the world and given different names in different cultures this seemingly mythical being is described as being 8ft plus tall and completely covered in hair, he avoids humans as much as possible but many people have claimed to have sighted the creature or even had their camp sight raided by him. People go looking for him, some find nothing and some claim to find too much, I present to you the original Patterson Big Foot Footage which has yet to be conclusively proven as fake. Opinions?
TOPIC ONE: MERMIADS
For millennia there have been stories of merfolk from cultures far and wide, many people today still believe in them or at least want too, what is your opinion on the matter? Do you believe there is at least a creature undiscovered that fuelled the myth?
Share 'evidence' or stories of sightings, what they would look like to you, how they would be possible.
BTW I'm not talking singing red-heads with a passion for blue eyed princes, I'm talking intelligent life sharing a common ancestor with us that roams the ocean.
In a recent documentary on the Animal Planet 'Mermaid: Body Found' they postulated that a real mermaid would look like this, less glamorous, more realistic.
I recommend people watch the documentary or at least educate themselves on 'the loop' and other evidence for intelligent ocean life, realise that it is possible and then make their conclusions. No-one finds uneducated and ignorant comments that amusing.
We know more about space than we do the ocean, so it's not like it's totally impossible. There are probably thousands of species we don't even know exist.

Right? we have only explored 5% of the ocean, there are new species found every week. The giant squid was a myth until recently, now we know where myth of 'the cracken' or giant tentacled sea monsters come from.
I doubt it. If they exist, they don't exist in any place in the ocean we've explored obviously. I just really can't imagine a bodily structure that would physically allow a species to travel from those unexplored depths to the surface where they could be found by seamen. And for them to be hiding out in unexplored depths of the ocean, they would have to be radically different than humans in the first place, no?
