I wish I still gave a **** about a bunch of old, over privilaged white men and their continual ignoring of black actors/movies but I honestly couldn't care less. It was the same last year and their ratings have been on a steady decline.

Though the Oscar nominations tend to look whitewashed, I think the core issue is directors not casting minority actors. There are issues within the Academy, but you have to address the problems of the film industry first.

Nobody from the black community deserved a nomination.

I usually don't care much about this but Idris deserves to actually win Best Supporting Actor

They aren't obligated to nominate a black person at every Oscar on race alone. I haven't seen every movie this year, nor do I pretend to have, but I genuinely don't remember any black people in roles that had a lot of Oscar buzz this year, let alone any blatantly bait-y roles. Tho if I'm wrong, I'm happy to have someone correct me

Honestly, these protests just hurt causes. Did the Oscars nominate any LGBT, Asian, Latina, etc. people last year and this year? Anyone with any kind of mental disorder? Any children? (I haven't checked, so again, correct me if in wrong) No? Wow! They must hate all LGBT, Asian, Latina people, all people with mental disorders, and all children. Or maybe no one in said groups was Oscar worthy this year. It happens

You could argue Hollywood's racist casting people discriminated and took their chances away, but that's still not the Oscar's fault (tho it's very possibly true)

On topic / off topic: what about other minorities e.g (gays, Asians etc) ? I didnt check the noms yet. Like didnt some recent Oscars had mainly white men in it?
