So me and my dad got into an argument about Black History month and why there wasn't a white history month.

Now, he's a guidance counselor and usually is an extremely smart guy, but I was appalled by how racist and ignorant he was being. He then went out to say that white people are the most discriminated race and that affirmative action was "screwing us."

So what are your thoughts on a White History Month and what my father was saying? Honestly I'm mad and slighTly embarrassed for him.

Give him a calendar but rip out February. Tell him "here's white history month."

WHM is every month.

I know how he feels. I feel so discriminated against as a privileged white person.

May, too. That's Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. And also October: that's Filipino American History Month. Us whites only get nine months now. Soon we won't have any. Now I know how Rosa Parks felt.

Wow so 11 months learning about the accomplishments of whites, isn't enough??? Who knew............

Doesn't he realize white history is really all we're taught growing up in elementary school? We don't even get into the actual grounds of black history until we're in high school and even then it's still watered-down!

I can't say much more because I feel like I might go on a rage tangent and get myself banned prematurely!
