The fourth quarter of 2010 was a huge time for pop music. Its crowded release schedule saw new albums from just about every major ATRL favorite sans the Trinity. Among the bunch were four of the biggest and most important records of the year, all dropping within a month of each other: On October 25 came Taylor Swift's Speak Now, the follow-up to the Grammy-winning Fearless, which sold over a million copies in its first week. November 22 brought us Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday, the highly-anticipated debut from the first breakthrough female emcee in over a decade, as well as Cannibal, the era-extending EP from the year's biggest new pop star, Ke$ha. And on November 29, we received Body Talk, the compilation of Robyn's three critically-acclaimed EPs of the same name, which landed on countless year-end best lists.
But which album reigns supreme? It's time to find out. In this rate, the good voters of ATRL will pit these four forum favorites against each other in a ferocious musical showdown in which one song will ultimately be named the pop champion of fall 2010. (Will it be "Dancing On My Own"? "Super Bass"? "Enchanted"? "Call Your Girlfriend'? Nothing else seems quite right.) You can help decide by listening to following 67 tracks, ranking each one individually on a scale from 1-10, and then sending me your ballot by Saturday, July 28. May the best diva win!
