Oprah had this interview, in which she says that racists have to die... came across to me as if she wishes them dead, but probably came across wrong.. How do you think she meant it?
I wish she has elaborated on that statement but from the context in which she said that, it is safe to assume that she meant that the generation of people who were born and raised with racist and prejudice ideas need to pass on for us to go forward as a society.

Not at all how it came across, she's giving me the impression she's legitimately mad and wants them to die, but it would be more like her to mean it the way you interpreted it...
Because wishing death on people that perpetuate social ills and pass that down to future generations is worse than being tightlipped about it in the first place.
