Simon Cowell: Confirms Single For Haiti Featuring Beyonce, L
Simon Cowell is putting together a charity single to raise money for earthquake hit Haiti. It’s claimed Prime Minister Gordon Brown personally asked the X Factor judge to put together a track.
Cowell told The Sun: “We are going to do a single. We only made the decision today. I have got to get it together in 24 hours.”
Now it’s claimed massive stars like Beyonce, Lady GaGa and Robbie Williams could record parts for the song.
This Friday acts including Coldplay, Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera and U2 will perform at the Hope For Haiti Now telethon – which has been organised by MTV and George Clooney.
Jay and U2 have also recorded a song to raise cash for the cause.

The best single that he can make will be one that it includes American Idol hit makers getting together for a project like this. It will be unique. But with Beyonce on it,, she will make it a big hit I am sure.

Why does it say he confirms in the title but in the article posted he doesn't confirm anything except that a single will be put out?

The only confirmed acts are Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, Cheryl Cole etc.
However, Radio 2's Simon Mayo show just announced a US Haiti Aid single "Hope For Haiti Now" which will be an original composition written by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z & Chris Martin.
Acts already confirmed on this US Charity single include: Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira; Sting, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Lady GaGa, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow as well as Coldplay, U2 & Jay-Z.
More are scheduled to be added....

You're welcome.
Anyway, the song itself could be bollocks, but seeing the star power the single could potentially have, a lot of money could be raised here which is obv great news.

They already have some really big names lined up for the us version
I hate charity singles in general, even if they are for a good cause, the songs themselves are usually awful

Oh apparantly that's just the artists for the Telethon. The single is supposed to only be Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z & Chris Martin.
It was far too many artists for one single anyway

Oh, I must have misread it so. They had alot of artists for the charity song 'just stand up', I think it was for cancer but I'm not sure. It was released in like sep 08 if I remember correctly. I think they have alot of artists for the september 11 song aswell...
