Should Rihanna change her "Album per year" strategy?
Obviously her team and label have a particular strategy and technique. They want to keep Rihanna on the map the most they can.
But is that "musical saturation" the best strategy?. IMO this could be one of the main reasons she doesn't have a #1 album in the US yet, while the 66,67% of the time her albums sales haven't been great or impressive ("Music of the sun", "A girl like me", "Rated R", "Talk that talk").
Should she change that strategy?. Would it work better if she takes some time between albums? lets discuss

Yes. Because I'm sick of hearing her voice already. She needs to take a break and give us a masterpiece not another half-assed Talk that Talk

Yes, also she should change release dates if she wants a number one album. She is too weak to pull it in November.

No.
Y'all shouldn't be complaining about it.

Ideally, she should wait until May 2013.

Uhmm in this day and age, with piracy, leaks, etc.. if an album goes Gold that's great, but I think All of her albums except MOTS went Platinum, and sold at least 1 million and TTT will cross the Million mark in the next 4 months. So I think the strategy is fine.
Not every album that goes to #1 goes Gold or Plat. Look at Femme Fatale, 4, MDNA....(no shade)
Rihanna is the only artist that can afford to keep releasing new music every year it seems and the public doesn't seem to get bothered or tired from it.

IMO the strategy is kind of bad.. she has released 6 albums.. and 4 of them have sold less than "Circus" (no shade)

I'm tired of these once a year releases. I haven't even officially bought TTT yet (I'm working on it) and this bitch is about to put out another ****ing CD; however, I actually find it impressive that she can release an album every single year and end up selling millions. I do think if she drew out the eras like LOUD then it could've been bigger than what it already is. At this point, I think Rihanna is more about the sales than the actual #1. Her projects usually end up just as much if not more than these #1 albums that y'all love to rant and rave about. Just saying...
I'm conflicted... I honestly wish she'd take a break though and focus on giving us a more personal, intimate album with more writing.

Which is totally fine in my opinion. Circus didn't have to combat with leaks, piracy etc...LOUD was the most illegally downloaded album of 2010...
but I mean, Rihanna can sell albums very well especially outside of the US, look at the UK, but she doesn't generally OWN it in the US market...

If anything, she needs to release the album Next Year and let it be something fresh and innovative. As much as I loved TTT, i'm sorta not impressed with the thugish girl that came out this era. It doesn't appeal to the masses, She needs something classy like Rated R fashion mixed with the GGGB type of persona and music similar to WFL...etc?

I wish she'd wait until next year to release. She could probably get a #1 if she released in August or September.

Femme Fatale was certified platinum and has sold about 800k.
4 is platinum and has sold 1.2 million.
MDNA has sold about 500k.

She should just start releasing small EPs as singles. 2-3 tracks with each single release throughout the year.

I think she should focus more in the current era she is in instead of already focus in the next one.
Its been some months she started "Talk that talk" era and she is already giving up on it

If she wants to get a #1 album all she has to do is stop releasing it when so much competition is around. It would mean less sales though. I don't think it's highly important personally, but whatever.
I feel like if she doesn't change up her sound soon or doesn't stop releasing them yearly that she will start flopping due to overexposure, but that's just my opinion.

Aight then congrats to them. Didn't really know, but FF, 4 and MDNA underperformed in my opinion. The fans made those albums seem like something stellar, and all weren't.
on a broader level, Pop girls struggle really when it comes to album sales now
Adele is another story...
