Have you heard these two tracks? One after the other? Have you equated the true meaning of the these tracks and the correlation between them and your current and past life?
People you've cared too much for and have seen the evidence.
Times where you were the most vulnerable and all that mattered was that ounce of care, that was never shown.
The simplicity in the structure of the lyrics but truth...
The loneliness and tears inside that accumulate when the progression speeds up into a roar of 'NOW YOU DON'T CARE NO MOOOORE'
Quote:
Now I'm crying and deserted baby, but you don't care / Can't nobody tell me this is love, you're all my pain
|
Quote:
Well I Care, I know you don't care too much... but I still care
|
The protagonist then breaks into a concessionary tale of deceit, loss love, and painful memories.
Quote:
Ever since you knew your power, you made me cry. Now every time our love goes sour, you won't sympathize"
|
Quote:
I try to tell you all my fears, you still don't care... that's okay.
|
Crooning back into a background melt of 'CAAAAARE', this is a genius performance.
The breakdown/bridge.
Quote:
Boy, maybe if you cared enough.
I wouldn't have to care so much.
What happened to our trust,
Now you just given up.
You used to be so in love,
now you don't care no more.

~~ whistle register, high notes, end of perfection and heart punching vocals that make you cry ~~
Then the beautiful and staccato chomps of 'I MISS YOU' kicks in with Frank Ocean murmuring unclassifiable words. This is when poetry begins.
A selfless revelation of the complexity of missing someone and bare acceptance that it doesn't heal so soon.
Quote:
I thought that things like this get better in time, but I still need you. Why is that?
|
More poetry, tbh.
Quote:
You're the only image in my mind. So I still see you, around.
|
A quite empty chorus, yet simple and eager enough to house the feelings of a heart missing someone.
Quote:
I miss you.
Like everyday.
Wanna be with you, but you're away.
Said I miss you, miss you insane.
But if I got with you, could it feel the same.
|
The second gets deeper and chops on with its simplistic production of the deep complexities of missing someone. A broken heart who obviously messed up with a pass relationship and drove someone away -- now they're bitter and want the person back, but pride almost keeps them away from missing that person... but it's inevitable, because this feeling is EVERYTHING
Quote:
Words don't ever seem to come out right.
But I still mean 'em.
It hurts my pride to tell you how I feel,
but I still need to. Why is that?
|
While the chorus remains the same, the vocal and tension here is obviously more intense. More heartfelt regret and wishing the person really was there. Then followed by an explanation of the 'missing' feeling.
Quote:
It don't matter who you are,
It is so simple a feeling,
But it's...everything.
No matter who you love,
it is so simple... a feeling,
but it's everything
