For the people actually directly impacted. How can people feel good about bitching about the deaths of people they don't know when people are literally always dying? The degree of self-absorption is impossible to fathom.
According to WorldOMeters, there have been 59 million deaths this year and 140, 000 deaths today. People die everyday. It's sad, but it's apart of life.
I think we are entering a new era of pop culture and politics. We are seeing a generation of older icons pass away. We are seeing the uprise of vocal miniorites as well those retaliating against them just as loudly. Everything is catching up pretty much.

The worst thing is that of those 59 million is that Snape and Princess Leia died. I'd rather my brother have died instead.
