2013 has been an amazing year in music. Any artist you can think of either released an album or a single this year. I literally have been overwhelmed with all these new releases. I spent week after week being slayed by all this new music.

Urban music became a lot more popular again this year. Every hip-hop artist released an album. From Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, J Cole to Kid Cudi hip-hop has been so amazing this year.

Who else released albums this year? Every major female pop star. Beyonce just surprised everyone and released her self titled fifth album 'BEYONCE' out of nowhere with no announcement, promo, nothing. Lady Gaga released her highly anticipated third album 'ARTPOP'. Britney Spears released her eighth album 'Britney Jean'. Katy Perry released her third album 'PRISM'. Miley Cyrus released her breakout album 'Bangerz' which surprised everyone and in a good way.

Even though Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, P!nk and Ke$ha didn't release albums this year they still were very successful. All four are on the best collaborations this year. Rihanna had "Stay" with Mikky Ekko and The #1 single "The Monster" with Eminem. Christina was part of the flawless ballad "Say Something" with A Great Big World. Ke$ha joined Pitbull in one his best songs to date "Timber". P!nk had one of the biggest duets this year with "Just Give Me a Reason" and one of the biggest hits in her career.

This year also brought us a lot of new artists. From Lorde, Cassadee Pope, Ariana Grande, A$AP Rocky, Iggy Azalea, Fifth Harmony, Bonnie McKee, to Jhene Aiko. All of these artists proved to me that they can more than just one hit wonders and can make amazing music. I'm looking forward to hearing more music from these artists.

One of the biggest artists this year was no doubt Miley Cyrus. She dominated the summer with "We Can't Stop" and caused controvery at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. She made headlines yet again when she released the music video for "Wrecking Ball". Everything from her twerking, singing about molly, swinging naked on a wrecking ball. Miley had the biggest year hands down.

2013 also was a year of comebacks. Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Eminem, Ciara and Justin Timberlake all came back hard this year with amazing albums. Danity Kane also announced that they are back together and releasing an album in 2014. That I am looking foward to.

With all that being said I am going to be counting down my favorite songs and albums of 2013. I will be narrowing it down to 100 songs and 50 albums. I hope you enjoy!
