When the century started, the music industry was at an all-time high. Albums were selling like pancakes and artists were at their best. Competition between groups and between popstars were so tight that both sides strive to be at their best. One of those music competitions is the battle between boybands
N'Sync and
Backstreet Boys. Both boybands were neck to neck in their feud that both of their 2000 albums,
No Strings Attached and
Black & Blue, opened with record-breaking sales. N'Sync managed to win the battle tho since their album sold almost a million units more than Backstreet Boys's.
Unlike the two boybands, our next two acts are both already at the top of their games.
Eminem managed to snatch the King of Rap throne despite being of an unconventional race to the rap game.
Britney Spears is undoubtedly the defining artist of her generation and her contemporaries can only wish to get even half of what she's getting.

Eminem offered an angry middle-finger waving alternative to the top acts of the day, and fans showed up in droves. There really were a million of us who dressed like him, cursed like him, and just didn't give a **** like him. Complex.com | |
