Clive Davis: MJackson Plotted to End Brother Jermaine Career
from his new book
And not only Jermain, he also sabotaged the career of LaToya and Rebbe and did try to sabotage Janet
Quote:
In his wonderfully juicy new book, “Soundtrack of My Life,” Clive Davis — “the Man with the 45 RPM Ears” –confirms what has always been out there: Michael Jackson purposely tried to kill off brother Jermaine’s career. In the mid 80s, Davis signed Jermaine Jackson and had a couple of hits that still stand up: “Do What You Do” and “Tell Me I’m Not Dreaming.” Michael didn’t like this.
When Clive hired Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and LA Reid in the late 1980s to produce Jermaine’s fourth album at Arista Records, Michael had enough, Davis says. The King of Pop tied up Babyface for his own projects, ripping him away from Jermaine. Clive writes: “Jermaine couldn’t believe that Michael, his close brother, would hijack his producers’ material this way.”At a dinner in Paris, Clive recalls, Jermaine was “crying, indeed sobbing at times, so deeply hurt that his brother would do this to him.”
The older brother was so angry that he wrote his infamous song, “Word to the Badd,” which denounced Michael as shallow and selfish. Michael responded by calling Davis and demanding he take the song off of Jermaine’s new album.
Davis was between a rock and a hard place, as they say. Jermaine leaked the track so the world could hear his bitterness. Clive “I felt it would be wrong for me to tell an artist to take a song off an album. This was a family and personal matter that they would need to resolve themselves.” Eventually a watered down version of the song was officially released. Davis’s story lines up with the one told by Michael’s longtime pr man, the late Bob Jones, in his book with Stacy Brown.
I’m sorry: this is the petty side of Michael Jackson that his fans don’t like to hear about. But now we have the same story from two people who never knew each other–Bob Jones, and Clive Davis. Bob Jones wrote that Michael systematically destroyed the careers of Rebbe and Jermaine, and even LaToya, but wasn’t fast enough to stop Janet.

This is the biggest amount of ******** I've evver heard.
Jermaine in no way could compete with the magic Michael was bringing with thriller, and is Michael was so damn heartset on ruining his brothers, why would he even had done the victory tour AFTER thriller when he could of easily toured solo and left his brothers in the dust.
Latoya just had no ****ing talent.
Rebbie was married and chose to raise her family.
Janet didn't even want to sing,. Joe made her, and Jimmy Jam made her huge. Michael couldn't stop that not to mention MICHAEL GAVE JANET the idea for Rhythm Nation. One of Janets most iconic music videos and most successful album to date in her career.

Clive Davis is that heavyweight in the music industry, who should I believe Clive or you?
To Janet. Rythm Nation is an album of the 90's, it stated in the article: in the beginning.
And I'm old enough to know about the daily brawls during the Jackson tour.

But Jermaine sabotaged his own self ! He did not need Michael to help him.
All the Jackson siblings could have died from jealousy, let's not forget the Victory Tour controversies.. Michael was the one who didn't want to tour yet his brother begged him so they could earn money.

Clive is 80 years old and loaded, he doesn't need to sell anything.

Whether he did those things or not it's his own flawless discography that made him the icon he is so does it actually matter?

Rhythm Nation is an album of the 80s it came out in 89. It just had longevity with its singles that it spanned into the 90's. And anyone can say anything to sell a book, it could be true it could be false.

He declared also in his book that he is bisexual, why didn't he say it 30 years ago.
Why? Maybe the thinks it's time to make Tabula Rasa, many People wait to the end of their lives.

Ok, I stand corrected, but it was not an album of the beginning of her career.

Michael was afraid of Jermaine's talent.
I'm sure he stole the Thriller video idea from Jermaine.

I don't know either, if it's the only truth.
But this is a scoop and they published it first by Roger Friedman (discovered first who sings Skyfall, industry insider, friend of Mariah, enemy of Madonna)
So they know this will be big.

Even if it's true, Michael couldn't stop Janet.
Janet was so big she cam and overshadowed him with her music and the message behind it.
But his brothers and sisters destroyed their own careers, you can see the effects of Joe on their mental health.
