The 20-year-old’s ‘Bangerz’ album rocketed straight to the top of the Official UK Album Chart last night – becoming her first #1 on the famed tally.

Crowning the impressive feat is the success of the project’s second single ‘Wrecking Ball’ which too hit #1 on the Official UK Singles Chart yesterday.

Given the increasingly “glocal” nature of today’s music industry, it’s little surprise that “Miley Mania” has gripped the UK – regardless of how madly manufactured it is.

What will be interesting to see, though, is how (if at all) her buzz remains once the press fascination with her “antics” subsides.

Looking at the album’s projected performance in the US, the signs aren’t promising.
