Nicki Minaj: Reason of Backlash?
To be honest with you, lately I've been browsing YouTube, and I've found with way too many comments, specially now that VEVO is promoting PTA on the side of each Pop video, similar to this:
My point is, Nicki has nothing to do with ABBA's Dancing Queen, yet she gets dragged a lot by the general public, and by the general public I mean not us in here on ATRL, but by people that couldn't care less for music, but they hate on Nicki anyways.
It kinda seems like she became a target as Justin Bieber or Nickelback were/are. Even though the Queen has an incredible amount of fan support, the question still is in the air, why is she dragged so much?
Was it:
- The Stupid Hoe video?
- The Roman Holiday Grammy performance controversy?
- Or the fact she tried Pop and succeed: therefore people calling her a sellout?
Because to be real, you may argue: Well, she deleted her Twitter account, she did cancelled Summer Jam, among others, but the general public is not even aware of those incidents as we are to drag her that much.
Me not being a stan, but as a music listener, I do believe Nicki is an incredibly talented woman with a great sense of creativity and has tons of versatility to make several music genres. Not many people could make the music Nicki actually does.
So what do you think? Discuss.
