...to add on. Without Janet/Whitney, etc....Beyoncé probably wouldn't exist. People like Tina Turner and Diana inspired and influenced Beyoncé -- they all opened the door for her.
However, Beyoncé mixed all of their individual strengths into herself. The fact that she has a trait from all of those major artists leads me to believe that she'll be the one to be remembered as the ultimate. Janet couldn't sing as well as the others - but she was a performer. Whitney couldn't perform but she could sing. Beyoncé does both, albeit not as WELL as them when compared individually - but doing two of those things as one person, I would say B has the edge.
As long as B maintains relevancy and stability for another decade - she's definitely a shoe in.
