Note: This is a copy and paste of another countdown by myself, I'm just doing it again here on ATRL.
It's that time of year again! This will be my second year of counting down the best 100 songs of the year, and in addition I will be doing a countdown for the best 25 albums. Throughout the countdown I will be presenting some of my favourite music videos and performances of the year, as well as songs that failed to chart because of the song restriction rules I have for this year!
Eligibility Rules
Obviously, I want to be consistent with the chart and so there are some rules that I have. If your fave song isn't on the countdown these might be one of the reasons. :P
Eligibility Period: December 1, 2011 - December 1, 2012
For songs: Must have been released as a single or part of an original album in the U.S within the eligibility period OR reached a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100 within the eligibility period.
For albums: Must have been released within the eligibility period or reached a new peak on Billboard 200 within elibility period.
No song that charted last year may chart again (because that would be boring).
No more than two songs from any artist may chart (because, again, that would be boring)
The Show
The show will begin with tracks. Every day I will count down ten positions from the Top 100 Tracks of 2012. In between I will feature blasts from the past, uncharted music from this year, awesome performances, and some music videos. Be sure to check out the videos that I created for each countdown that feature snippets of each charted song! Hopefully you'll discover a few new awesome songs from this year while this is in progress.
Thank you to all you kind people looking at my countdown, I appreciate it so much! Anyway, I won't be posting commentaries until the Top 50 tracks, so for now I'll just wait it out and continue posting the image rankings and the videos for each 10!
Marilyn Monroe is one of my fav tracks of her album.
Take Care is great .. I prefer Rihanna's part though
Calvin Harris + Florence working together
Florence's vocals is amazing. They did a good job.
Happy Pills! YES! One of my favorite songs
this year. I'm so happy to see that on your countdown,
because it's one of the most underrated songs this
year, and I adore it. The album is flawless.
