Former "X Factor" U.K. act One Direction got such a great reception when the group visited Los Angeles in late January 2012 that Syco/Columbia Records has moved up the America release date of "Up All Night," One Direction's debut album. "Up All Night" originally had an America release date of March 20, 2012, but now the America release date is March 13, 2012.
The album debuted at #3 in Ireland. In the UK, the album entered the UK Albums Chart at #2 on selling 138,631 copies, the highest for a #2 album in 2011, and became the fastest-selling debut album on the UK Albums Chart of 2011. As of January 2012, the album has sold 499,850 copies in the United Kingdom.
The album debuted on the Australian Albums Chart at #5 and was certified gold by ARIA on its entry on the chart and has since been certified platinum for 70,000 sales. Up All Night peaked at number four, in the albums eight week of release on the Australian Albums Chart. The album debuted on the New Zealand Albums Chart at #2 on the issue dated 4 December 2011, and has been certified platinum for 15,000 sales by RIANZ.
