Russel simmons is an idiot. I mean why didn't he just say she did it because shes A GROWN ASS WOMAN and she can sing about whatever she wants. trying to justify this as art made him look ridiculous. Bill kind of won this round

Music is an art form though as are music videos.
The only thing Bill has won is the award for being an ignorant, closed-minded white man with a television show.
you cant blame him for not liking the video sis ( what 60 year old would?) and his questions were relevant, Russel just didn't answer very well
Yes, he didn't answer very well because he didn't want to talk about hip-hop and Beyoncé; he was there to promote his book... and Bill bombarded him with questions unrelated to his book.
My parents were watching this on TV. I heard the video playing on the News, and freaked out. I knew they were gonna scream at me, try to throw away my CD (which is in hiding as we speak), etc.

He's a classic case of someone expecting stars to parent the nation's children. Bey's album isn't for kids and she's never tried to market it towards them. I can't say the same for other popstars, who sometimes try to market their less-than-ideal-material-for-children... to children. But they, just like Bey, don't have to parent either. If you're not comfortable with your kid surfing VEVO/iTunes & finding videos like Partition, then do your job & PARENT. Monitor what they do on the internet until they're old enough to be trusted and more mature.
