Discussion: Racism within a minority: "No asians!"

THIS thread inspired me to ask you guys If It's racist to write "No asians" or "No blacks" on (gay) dating-profiles like Grindr, Scruff, Gayromeo and so on...?

Let's start with my point of view and a quote of the said thread:

So basically there is a minority within a minority that's crying about, how some of the other girls don't want to play with them. That doesn't mean I'm rude to asian people. The only situation I could imagine in case of this pic is, that those asian folks were banned from some bars cause of their race. THEN It's definitely racist.

In one way, I do find it racist since you are judging them by appearance, but a defense could be made that being gay is sexism to girls when any gay person knows full well they can't help who they are attracted to. I'm split really.

Why don't people advertise what they WANT, instead of what they DON"T WANT? Like "Looking for tall, blonde, funny, and athletic" vs. "No Asians, femmes or nerds"

I hate it when people are called racist for having a preference, you can tell the difference between racist and preference. The example though is racist imo.

I do notice that a lot of gay guys are opposed to Asians, though. A lot of those same people have a soft spot for black guys. Suspicious...

I am yet to find an asian girl sexy. There is one that I am actually attracted too in 1 of my classes, but I assume she is mixed race, because she must be taller than 5,11 and she is more curvy. But I don't find her sexy

i'm only attracted to light-skinned guys (most of the time Caucasian) so if i'm not attracted to dark-skinned guys/asian guys how could it be racist? It's more of a preference than a racist issue imo..

I don't really know if its racist, but everyone is entitled to their preference, although to me it is not about skin color/race/gender/weight. If I like your personality, we're hanging.

I hope that one day, in the next lifetime that it'll be the same for everyone

Would you not feel like crap if you were specifically marked against on every other (literally) grindr profile? People are on there trying to connect and are disregarded so viciously. Even if you don't want to have sex with an asian man doesn't mean you need to specifically target them in your bio so they don't message you ever. That's rude and demonstrates a lack of social conscious.

Also, I think the reason why I don't care for race/skin color etc.. Is cause I'm biracial, I've experienced racism first hand. I know what its like, and I don't ever want to make someone else feel like I did

If you omit an ENTIRE race, then yes, it is racist. How can you omit an entire race? How do you know you aren't attracted to every single person within an entire race? Grouping millions and billions of people into one category is racist. It's okay to have a preference, but a preference for Latinos, blacks, etc. is not the same as omitting an entire race.

Your fine with me putting "No women" despite me eliminating ALL WOMEN, including billions I've never met -- but when I put "No Asians" despite me eliminated ALL ASIANS, including billions I've never met it becomes a problem?
