Applause has been stabilising in the Top 3/4 on iTunes ever since the VMA effect, which propelled her from #9 to #3, wore off.
However, over the last few days, the song's updates have been decreasing and it seems as though it's about to peak on radio at around 50m AI.
Despite the song performing pretty well at the moment with underwhelming radio support, why is radio refusing to spin the song as much as other singles on the radio, despite it being one of the most popular songs in America at the moment based off it's iTunes position over the last couple of weeks?
Saying "the GP isn't here for it" isn't a viable answer seeing as it's the 4th most popular song in America right now, the monsters bought the song in the first week.
Because it's unrelatable, and the GP doesn't like it. And it's not even that good let's face it.
It's just as catchy as any other song she's done pre BTW. It's not so much the song, I think it's more to with Gaga (unfortunately). She needs to regain her "cool" factor with the public.
Applause is catchy and fun, but it's a bit too theatrical to fit into the mold of what radio is embracing right now. Most pop stars these days adapt to fit radio when it should be the other way around.
But, from what I've heard, it's receiving bad callout scores already. With that, radios will be less open to spinning it.

If anyone drags it they'll look kinda dumb based on what I bolded above.
Also, in regards to the callout scores, have they even been released? I keep seeing people say that, but no one has provided a link with the information.
The GP loves the song, people don't change the radio station when the song is being played. Over 400k likes on YT for just less than 40 MIL views. Slaying the music channels in every country. The GP is so here for this song. Still haven't met a person who doesn't like at least the bridge.
