If you’re familiar with Nashville‘s Will Lexington, you can file the tale of rising country star Nate Green under the old adage “Life Imitates Art.” While being marketed to the Taylor Swift tween set as Nate Green, back in 2011 the hunky singer was marketed to the DNA Magazine crowd as the oft-shirtless Josey Greenwell.
In an interview with DNA, Greenwell lamented his unsuccessful attempts to break into the country music scene in Nashville, which led him to independently produce his own project. “Music should be about talent and not sexuality, but I’m proud of mine nonetheless,” he said in April 2011. Come October he was shirtless on the cover, and cavorting with model/A-List New York-er Rodiney Sanitago on the beach.
Fast forward to 2014, and Nate Green is on the Will Lexington shuttle to uncertain fame. Teen dreams and all. Gone are the proud declarations of his sexuality, replaced by “an impressive social following and fan base…quickly taking the female 13-24 age group demographic by storm,” claims his new management, Aristo PR. According to WeHo Confidential, Greenwell deleted all of his affiliated social media pages some 6-8 months ago.
We even signed up for his fan pages and tried to comment on his social media pages to ask him if he is Josey Greenwell and why is he denying being gay and becoming a different person? Our comments never appeared on his sites and several of our gay friends tried to do the same but it seems like all comments that are remotely gay or from gay fans are not allowed on his sites and he won't allow you to be a fan or friend or follow. He only features straight women and girls and a few seemingly straight guys to comment on his sites or follow him or become his friend or fan online.
One fan actually got a message from Nate Green/Josey Greenwell stating that if he did not stop trying to post gay related comments on Nate Green's sites he was going to use legal action against him.
Poor thing desperate for fame and success. It will be worser for him though when he gets really famous, and then he ends up on the news because he was up in some dude bed. The expose will damage him more than help. The fact that most of Gay community already knows him isn't any better because they are going to call him out.
