ATRL: The Decade Duel!
Game Details
In this game there are 7 rounds in which you must submit a song that fits both the theme and decade that have been assigned that round. In each round, I will put the 7 decades and 7 themes into an online randomizer to decide what the round will be. Each decade/theme will only be used once.
The decades are:
-1950s
-1960s
-1970s
-1980s
-1990s
-2000s
-2010s
The themes are:
- a love song
- a political anthem
- a one hit wonder
- a dance craze
- an indie hit
- a summer classic
- an unexpected collaboration
FOR EXAMPLE: The randomizer may choose the 1980s and a summer classic. That round, you'd have to submit a song that was a summer classic and was released in the decade of the 80s. Once a decade and theme have been chosen, they no longer will be used in future rounds. Every player must submit, and when entries are posted, they must vote for the song that they feel fits the theme the best (other than their own). Non players may also vote. Votes will be tallied, and points assigned. Points carry from round to round and at the end of 7 rounds the highest score is deemed the winner!
Copy and paste for sign-ups. I'd like at least 10, but we can go beyond that if more people are interested. It'll be a tough one for sure, but also fun - and you get bragging rights to not only knowing about today's music - but historical hits too! I'm excited for this...I've run a lot of successful games (Charm School, Hunger Games, etc) but this is actually my first one that's related to music!
Not a quiz, no. You submit a song that fits the given decade and theme. For example, if the theme is love songs from the 2000s, you need to choose a song and submit. Then people vote on the best song and you get points.
