Canadian singer / songwriter Alanis Morissette is back and her eighth album 'Havoc And Bright Lights' jumps atop the global album chart. That's the good news - the bad news is, that the set sold only 82.000 copies and that's a sad all-time low for a no.1 album since the start of Mediatraffic album chart in 2004.
The former low is more than three and a half years ago,Beyonce's 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' topped the list with 98.000 copies in the week 4, 2009.
Back to Alanis, her former album 'Flavors Of Entanglement' peaked at no.7 in the week 26, 2008 with 126.000 units. Unforgettable is Alanis' mega-seller 'Jagged Little Pill' from 1995, which sold 33 million copies to date and ranks at no.12 on the ALL TIME CHART.
Differently than expected, Adele's '21' doesn't return to the summit, but holds the vice position, after a 5% sales decline to 75.000 units
Happy for Alanis, but sad that Adele was blocked, cause there was already a party about her returning to #1 for 47th week
