The Wanted singer recently met the US 'X Factor' judge but says he wasn't overly impressed because he thinks she's bored with fame.
Tom - who is joined in the band by Max George, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran - said: "Britney's beautiful and a nice girl, but when we met her, I expected her to have more personality. I feel sorry for her cos she's had a lot of stress in the last five years, and she's done so much from a young age. I guess it's the same with Nathan. He started young and I'm sure in 10 years, if we're still going, he's going to be like, 'When is this going to end?' "
Tom also claimed that despite enjoying his job, being famous isn't always great.
He told TOTP magazine: "Fame has its benefits, but it definitely has its negatives, too - like the amount of hours you have to work. Plus, everyone thinks I get to hang around with celebrities all day long, but it's not all it's cracked up to be. I wouldn't change things for the world though - I just love doing music."
