[Flashback] VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown (2003-2005)
Hey guys,
I just recently came across a whole bunch of "VH1's Music Radar" press releases and pretty much got all of the countdowns for the VH1 Top 20 from the year 2003. And since I have all of the countdowns from November 2003 until now, I decided maybe I should complement the information already here on ATRL with these lists so that they're always available in case I happen to lose my computer files/hard copy recaps in the near future.
I only have the Flavas of the Week since November 1, 2003, the day I chose to start writing these countdowns down. Thus, to make up for their absence, I'm including the Music Video Adds for the week so that you can see which videos were rotating on VH1 and thus may have been Flavas or might enter the chart in the future.
Now I will not add any information related to Peaks and weeks unless I'm 100% sure of when the video debuted and what its run was like. The VH1 Top 20 was always relatively erratic, and oftentimes videos fell and got back up to a new peak, making tacking their peaks very difficult sometimes.
Oh yeah, I'm only recapping until May 2005, since by then the Countdown recaps are available in ATRL. This is when posters here finally decided to put them all in one thread rather than make individual ones. Depending on the response these get (i.e., how many posts/replies this thread gets), I might keep the whole thing (Jan. 2003 - Mar. 2005) in one thread, or I may separate them by year. Anyway, I feel like that is all there is to say. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this countdown, which is probably one of the oddest ones I've seen as far as runs are concerned (and this is still WAY before they made it a vote-only chart!!) ad also one of my favorites. Also, I'm sure several of these videos did not make it to TRL or other MTV charts at the time, so it might give many of us a chance to get to know great artists and songs (at least that's what it did for me!).

Okay, I'm done updating the month of January!!! Once again, thank you very much to Brandon for the 3 missing charts this month. I will take a bit more of my time for the following weeks and months, but I'll try to post the next countdown by Wednesday the latest, so as to keep the ball rolling.
