Kanye West must love bad press. The controversial rapper is constantly at the center of negative news stories, whether it’s his arrogant rants about being the best in the industry, or his obnoxious thunder-stealing antics.
But Kanye has now landed himself in hot water with animal rights activist organization PETA. He and girlfriend Amber Rose showed up at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris donning floor-length fur coats, sparking outrage from the organization.
PETA Vice President Dan Matthews says, "
Kanye can't help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an awards show or a fashion show. He and his girlfriend look like pathetic creatures from a shabby roadside zoo."
Early this month, R&B singer Kelis received a letter from PETA urging her to stop wearing fur. The singer responded with her own letter insisting fur feels “glorious” against the skin.
Adding fuel to the fire, she wrote, "If I started wearing endangered animals like polar bear or orangutan then talk to me. (Which btw for the record I would not - I do believe in the preservation of endangered species) But the minks and chinchilla that quite honestly are rodents and if weren't in the form of a coat I would demand they be put to death anyway are not an issue to me.”
