So, I've been going back through The Lounge's pages and I rediscovered my old game, The Best of The Best.

I decided I missed it.

With the urging of a very popular ATRL member who played in both editions, I'd like to bring it back.

Is that alright with you all?

Here's how it all started, two three years ago.

It's essentially a battle royale - 100/110 of our favorite artists of THIS CENTURY battle against each other, with the ultimate winner waving the crown for one year.

But really, it's a music discovery game. You get to hear a lot more of various artists catalogs then you ever thought you would have before.

It's really fun, and I'd ideally like to FINISH it.

Here's week 3 of the first year, probably our best combo of participation and comments.

So, here's how it goes:

• Each person submits a list of their 25 favorite artists from 2000 and beyond. They could have started in then 60s, or just last year - but they had to be RELEVANT in this millenium. (please, no MJ or anything like that.)
• When the game starts, each week will have a randomly selected group of ten "facing off" against each other.
• Anyone who participates has to listen to ALL TEN songs posted, and preferably comment on them. They could be one word comments - just make them good. (Or, if you're in the Me/Ryan/Patrick style of writing, they could be three paragraphs. Just, again, make them good.

This year, we're doing things differently, and introducing a Cherrypick. The person you put as your number one will AUTOMATICALLY make the final list, and play in the game. Like this:

Just one more plea: PLEASE MAKE YOUR LIST INTERESTING - everyone's going to list Bee, Brit, Gaga, X-Tina, Riri, KoL, Muse, Green Day, etc and so forth - so you can place them lower and place acts like La Roux, Janelle Monae, Arcade Fire, Fantasia, Class Actress higher.

I finished The ATRL Top 50 in record time this year - I think I can do it.

The game stopped dead in it's tracks in the second round in 2008 because everyone but Ryan and me (or is it I? 100 Pounds????) quit.



Avril won the first round handily. Let's not let that happen again.
