The Divas match: Discover the results!
Fifteen years ago, a handful of singers were given the status of Diva as they stood out from others. The music channel VH1 in the U.S. even had a show bringing together Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Shania Twain, Gloria Estefan and Mariah Carey: a real event. There followed a second edition, including Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Cher and Brandy, and a third in Las Vegas, less quality than others, including Nelly Furtado and Anastacia. VH1 stopped the show before back in 2009. Yes but now is not who wants to Diva, and the selection of Miley Cyrus, Jenifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks, Adele and Kelly Clarkson was not to the liking of everyone. The name of Diva is actually given too easily to some singers that produced only one or two albums, meaning so overused.
Among the string of international stars that one worships at all is, which ones really deserve the title of Diva? Which ones meet the criteria: longevity, glamorous, voice, record sales, charisma, career management ...? Who is Aretha Franlin of tomorrow? Team Pure Charts met, accompanied by music specialists essays Pure Pure Media and Entertainment, and discussed at length in order to propose a classification of both objective and subjective. We have sifted through twenty-one singers including Adele, Celine Dion, Rihanna, Shakira, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Pink, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Kesha, Nelly Furtado and Nicole Scherzinger. And the least we can say is that there has been debate.
Some details of the chosen method: after selecting international singers of the moment, each journalist was given a score of 20 on each artist, criterion by criterion (longevity, glamorous, voice, record sales, charisma, career management). Once the averages, we established a ranking. Small clarification: we have deliberately obscured Whitney Houston, Cher, Brandy, Anastacia, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and Janet Jackson, the singers no longer really in the news (no recent releases), although note that Janet Jackson one of the few singers to have sold over 100 million records worldwide.
SALES RECORD
It is one of ten artists to have surpassed the 300 million records sold worldwide with Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Julio Iglesias, Led Zepplin, it is the only one with Nana Mouskouri to appear in the Top 10: Madonna, with 320 million albums sold, is our number 1 ranking. Second place is awarded to the Canadian Celine Dion with over 200 million records sold, Britney Spears is the third of this ranking with 155 million records sold, and Mariah Carey comes with 175 million records ... Christina Aguilera and Kylie Minogue are the fifth and sixth with nearly 90 million records sold. Shakira is approaching 80 million, Beyoncé's 75 and, surprise of this ranking, Kelly Clarkson virtually anonymous in France, is over 81 million records sold worldwide, is as good as Robbie Williams.

I'm surprised Shakira isn't #2 since "Sale El Sol" is the highest selling album in France for a female international artist right now.
