I apologise if this has been posted before, I tried searching but coudnt find anything.
What do you think guys?
I think it was genius of her to use this opportunity to shine light on a bigger / more important issue.
You can tell how much she is passionate about her cause and how scared she was speaking about it.
Those guys in the end are racists..
EDIT : This was sarcasm in case some people didn't get it. I'm surprised I have to mention this explicitly.
Tacky. Go to bed, sis. That was not the time nor the place.
"I wish as many people came to our rally" sounds like "This cause isn't as important as mine- it's just more popular"
SMH. No offense but black lives matter is so extra sometimes. This is not about race.. This is about the gay community being targeted by a homophobic terrorist. That was disrespectful

But I think it is. It's so complex, because no person is JUST gay, or JUST latinx, or JUST anything. It's impossible. There's always an intersection between things like race, gender, and sexual orientation, and claiming that what happened in Orlando is just "about the gay community", diminishes the identities of those people. The fact that it was Latin night at the club should be a real layer into the entire investigation, and help shine light on the fact that more often than not, lgbtq+ people of color are more targeted with violence and hatred than non-lgbtq+ people of color.
We don't have to choose a single topic to fight about (lgbt+, race, gun control, mental health, etc) we can include them all and bring them all to the table.

What are you talking about? All those 'WHITE' people out there KNOW who died, they've seen faces, people have read their names. They were there to mourn and they were there to support victims' families.
This little twat came on stage and literally said she wished there were as many people joining her 'racial demonstrations' as there is people that have come to mourn 50 killed in 1 night, 50 injured. Please spare me that pc crap. She came there because tumblr told her she needs to butt in everywhere and make it about race. She came on the stage MAD and provoking people with her passive-aggressive comments. She is the problem.

The level of delusional - ism is through the roof.
I can't speak for every case but in this one the reports confirm that : -
1) the shooter expressed disgust when a gay couple kissed
2) his dad is homophobic
3) he was on grindr
4) during the shooting he even said " imma not gonna shoot black ppl, u guys have suffered enough"
And here we have people who still think race is the first layer. My original post was sarcasm if anyone didn't get it. SJW + tumblr is destroying America.
The girl's attitude is faker than Nicki minaj's ass.

Sorry, but this was not the right place for that conversation. This was a vigil to mourn the victims, who were gunned down in a GAY nightclub. Did she get up there and say anything about homophobia and gay rights? No. All she did was judge the people in the crowd - people she didn't even know - and accuse them of not supporting BLM and then of being uncomfortable with the fact the the victims were Latino, even though the victims photos have been all over the media. The people in the crowd were not there to be lectured or there to be unsupportive. The fact that they showed up already proves that they are either apart of the LGBT community or allies. Why take that moment to turn it into some sort of game of who is more oppressed? Race was NOT the main issue here. She should've saved that crap for her blog and she was lucky no one snatched her off the stage.
She's talking about how we all need to unite and combat all forms of discrimination. It's not like she was the only person speaking, other people would have been more LGBT-specific, if you don't want to hear about black issues and the reasons why we need to support all human beings then that's your issue.

So basically #AllLivesMatter? I wonder how well that would've gone at a BLM rally.

I agree that the identity of the victims is important in honoring their memory and who they were, how they contributed, their impact on the lives around them but what this person is doing is wrong. The killers full intentions may still be under investigation but what's clear is he did want specifically to target the gay community, and killed 49 lgbtq men and women regardless of race. So why diminish that fact?
I just feel there's a time and place for everything. Bringing up race matters at that moment was the wrong decision when everyone is there to come together in remembrance of the victims as simply human beings.
