Concerning the promo thing with Brit, I think most stans consider "promo" these days for her as marathon long TV specials with vigorous dance routines and lengthy interviews. Heck, I'm sure some stans wouldn't be satisfied until she re-injured her knee through choreography.

So yeah, delusion on that part.

Nov 2010 - Nov 2011 = 1 year

Just dance came out in April 2008, she promoted in 2008, that is a 9 months! (basically the year)
She blew up in 2009, she promoted in 2009, that is a year! (2 years)
She released in 2010, she promoted in 2010, that is a year! (3 years)
She released in 2011, she promoted in 2011, that is a year! (4 years)

So where did November come from?

I guess it's splitting hairs since The Fame wasn't released and JD didn't blow up in the US until November '08. If you want to talk about how long she'd been hustling under the radar then it extends years and years backward, but that is when she broke on the scene in America, at least.

Either way, it wouldn't be four years until this April.

I'm not talking under the radar, I'm talking her first release as an artist on a major label. Just Dance is her debut single, everything she did before doesn't count because she wasn't signed and released on an album contract. And even if she is just shy of 4 years by 3 months, rounding it down to 3 years makes less sense.

Its a terrible song... Thats the truth.

Like I said, I guess it's splitting hairs. I feel like people have been saying 3 years for a little while now, in which case it would have been closer to technically accurate, but I understand why Americans (at least) would feel like she's only been on the radar since November '08.

It did flop, but selling 2 million without a hit is amazing in today's music climate.
