In a battle of superstar releases, Celine Dion’s “Loved Me Back To Life” (Sony) debuts at number one on the Top Albums chart with 105,727 units sold. It is her 13th chart-topping album in the SoundScan era and 11th release to debut at the top. It is the best one week sales total for any release since 2008, when AC/DC’s “Black Ice” sold 119,000 units in its debut week of release. It is also her best one week sales total since she sold 152,000 copies in the first week of release of 2002’s “A New Day Has Come.” “Incredible,” the new single from “Loved Me Back To Life,” featuring Ne-Yo, enters the Canadian Hot 100 at No. 44. The album is already certified Triple Platinum in Canada (240,000 units shipped).
Eminem also has a huge sales week, as “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” (Universal) lands at No. 2 with 103,706 units sold. It is his biggest one week sales total to date, surpassing the 91,000 units sold in the first week of release of 2000’s “The Marshall Mathers LP.”
Avril Lavigne debuts at #4 with 8,500 copies sold.
