His mom has just passed away and he released a single called Just Hold On.
Look at the lyrics:
Quote:
Wish that you could build a time machine
So you could see
The things no one can see
Feels like you're standing on the edge
Looking at the stars
And wishing you were them
What do you do when a chapter ends?
Do you close the book and never read it again?
Where do you go when your story's done?
You can be who you were or who you'll become
If it all goes wrong
Darling just hold on
The sun goes down and it comes back up
The world it turns no matter what
If it all goes wrong
Darling just hold on
Is it a coincidence that he released such a heartfelt song right after his mom passed? Isn't it just weird that he didn't delay the release of the single altogether?
Also, he is scheduled to perform at the X Factor UK's finale and even after the death he didn't cancel the appearance and performance. I wouldn't be surprised if he perform an acoustic version of Just Hold On to fuel the sales.
I was thinking this when i saw him in kworb. Like it might just be a coincidence(but even if??). I'm sorry but it kinda looks like he's capitalizing over this tragic event. Stress on kinda looks because he seems to really care about his mom.
I don't want to call it shameless but all of it is very weird to me... I saw this trending and thought the fandon was trying to support him, only to find out that he released his first solo single idek what to say
Yes, it's like he got the phone call and then immediately called Steve to do a song in hopes of topping the charts. I just don't get it and the timing seems very self serving.
I mean his mom had leukemia for a while so he probably wrote it a long time ago? They are likely using the fact that she passed to promote the song now which is a bit shameless
He is doing the performance as a tribute to his mom. His mom probably wouldn't want him to put his life on pause. This thread is pretty judgmental and unfair.
This was the first thing I thought but I didn't want to say anything/seem insensitive. If he donates the proceeds to research for Leukemia then that would be awesome tho.
Im pretty sure he knows mom way better than we do. And she was rooting for him to perform and loved the song. I dont think that makes him shameless.
And its not like it was planned in the last day.

This was already planned for awhile and when they realized she was going to pass his mother told him she wanted him to still do the performance, bc it would be his first time performing outside of 1D.
This performance is practically her dying wish
I dont know why people are commenting on such a delicate situation when they dont know anything about it smh
