I wouldn't consider it cheating per se, but a lack or respect to your significant other. If you want to try things "just for fun", try it with your partner, get an open relationship or be single, simple as that.

If he has problems with that and doesn't like you doing it, then why are you doing it? Why are you in a relationship with him? You have to care about your partner. Everybody likes to make out, have sex, etc, but when you are in a relationship those things are supposed to be on agreement on both partners, not one of them seeking fun without thinking about the other's feelings. If you are happier doing this, end the relationship or talk with him. He will know what to do with your relationship status.
