It's currently certified 2x Platinum in the country as of June 17th, 2011. Teenage Dream also re-entered the Mexican album charts at #14 this week. I don't think Capitol released this for the hardcore fans. They obviously wanted sales from this re-release.

Again, Katy and Capitol planned this before TD was even released or around that time. No one even expected TD to sell as much as it did, or for the TD:CC to generate large amounts of sales. Most re-releases don't generate tons of sales.
