15. The Walking Dead
Watch if you like: ZOMBIES, horror, dramas
My boys delivered, this is by far the best season of this show todate. Fast paced, not sleep core and so far balancing the character development well with the action. And as long as Daryl, Rick & Michonne survive I'll be happy. **** Carol, btw. Still has some kinks to work out and some characters are too 'immortal', but it's still awesome.
14. The Flash
Watch if you like: Comic book films, Smallville
Smallville ran it's course by season 6, but I did miss it. The Flash fills that void!! It's slight camp, baddie of the week (for the most part, but it does have main villains) but it's still badass!!! And it made me actually like the Barry Allen character.
13. Silicon Valley
Watch if you like: Comedy, Mr. Robot or you're into computers/computer engineering.
This slept-on Comedy focuses on computer programmer Richard and his group of... odd friends who are also in the computer science world and their trials and tribulations as they try to jump start their own company. Full of lulz, this is another HBO classic. Don't miss out.

12. How To Get Away With Murder
Watch if you like: Scandal, Lawyer shows
Nnn, this show is messy in a good way!! It follows a college professor and students she picks to help with her day to day cases as a lawyer. But boy, is there so much drama The first season was nice... But, the 2nd season so far takes the cake AND is much better. The intensity and secrets that unfold just keep you hooked. And of course, queen Viola Davis as Annalise deserved her Emmy and more because she KILLS IT, ESPECIALLY in the mid-season finale. Catch up on this one while there's still time.
11. Mr. Robot
Watch if you like: techno/psychological thrillers, or you're into computers/computer engineering
The sleeper hit of the year! This follows Elliot who represents like 90% of Millennials (or more) lost in the internet, loner, social anxiety, etc,. until he gets a weird proposition in an unconventional way from a group similar to who we know as 'Anonymous'; from then on out it gets REAL. I can't wait for Season 2 and what it has in store for Elliot.
10. Kingdom
Watch if you like: Family Dramas (in film or TV) or Mixed Martial Arts
Kingdom is a Drama about a MMA family and their daily hardships. Not gonna lie I only checked this out because I'm a Nick Jonas fan BUT, this ended up being one of my favorite shows on TV!! The acting is AAAAAMAZING, mainly by the Dad Alvey, played by Frank Grillo (you may have seen him in a few things, namely Captain America: The Winter Solider) & eldest son Jay played by Jonathan Tucker (you may have caught him on Hannibal, Justified or The Virgin Suicides) but everyone is on their A-game here. Also, as an MMA fan, this does a great job filming the fights and showing what goes on in a training camp. If you don't care about MMA don't worry, that's not the focus here, it's just more of the skeleton. This family is the definition of dysfunctional.

I don't know much about TV, but I'm definitely perched for your music lists!
Mr. Robot sounds interesting though.

Think I'll finish up TV shows right now and get to EP honorable mentions.
09. Power
Watch if you like: Crime Dramas, The Wire
A drug dealer that desperately wants to get out of the business and into more legit affairs can't seem to do it with people that have been his day ones continuously dragging him back in. But underneath all that this is a very... interesting take on the crime drama genre, and continues to get better every episode. Season 2 was BRUTAL, gritty & terribly addictive given everything that unfolds! Check it out.
08. Ray Donovan
Watch if you like: Family dramas/Crime dramas
YAAAS. I love this show and loved season 3. Ray finally finishes a chapter of his life he never quite could, and lots of crazy **** happens. Showtime has a true gem in this show; his wife Abby is still trash and his daughter does some of the most annoying things throughout the season. But, this isn't for the easily disturbed because it can get twisted and... gross/bleak at some points.
07. Daredevil
Watch if you like: Comic Book films, The Dark Knight series
Hands down the best comic book live action series (nope, haven't finished Jessica Jones as of yet). It's not camp like a Smallville or another comic book related series on my list, but it doesn't take itself too seriously. The main thing is that the show points out how human Daredevil is, in every way possible. There's appearances from Rosario Dawson & Jessica from True Blood which is awesome! If you've never been big on comics, this is still a great crime thriller to check out.
06. Shameless (U.S.)
Watch if you like: Dramadeies (comedy-dramas), Black Comedies & Romance
I've been binge watching this for 2 weeks and am currently on season 3, but this show is amazing. You get AMAZING comedic & dramatic performances out of every cast member. The story-lines for everyone from the main character Frank (or Fiona, if you see it that way) to the least important person are all engaging which is something most shows struggle to do. It's more humorous than dramatic though, and I think everyone can relate to one (or more!) characters for sure which is more than what a lot of shows can say. They aren't rich, they aren't posted in some fancy house; it's a realistic portrayal which is commendable. But where this really shines is it's NOT CLICHE OR STEREOTYPICAL. The writers are fabulous. give this a watch!
05. Rick & Morty
Watch if you like: Futurama, Back To The Future & Science fiction in general
The best animated show since Futurama's creation. Not even a debate. It's smart, funny & the writing (majority of the time) is on another level. This season was kind of lessor to the first season but still pretty great. It's just really amazing there's an animated show for mature audiences that isn't just a string of puns and dirty jokes with like zero plot or development (hello, Family Guy).

Yes! You started a best of
I don't know any of these shows. I've been slacking in the tv department lately (had to watch all seasons of Friends and Supernatural), but I know all these are great and have had most recommended to me.
Bookmarked this page, because I will use it once I finally catch up on X-Files.

04. Hannibal
Watch if you like: Dexter, Silence of The Lambs or Psychological Thriller/Horror in general.
*Screams* This was was the best show on TV. Still mad as **** it got cancelled. First off, Mads Mikkelson as Hannibal Lector puts Anthony Hopkins to shame. But Laurence Fishburne & Hugh Dancy give stellar performances as well. This show really shows you how twisted the Doctor is. And if you're a film/TV buff, the cinematography and visuals in general is glorious. I just... This was a near perfect show and the plug got pulled. I always thought it would've shined on FX or AMC; maybe it will comeback but that's looking unlikely.
03. Ash vs. Evil Dead
Watch if you like: Comedy-Horror & Evil Dead film series
This was so close to grabbing my #2 spot, I love it that much. Ash vs. Evil Dead picks up 30 years after the original Evil Dead film series; I should stop there to avoid spoiling. This is the good kind of cheesy, very 80s in style kind of; But even beyond that this is well written & the acting is on point. It deserves all the high praise it's getting. Bruce Cambpell is hilarious and it surpassed all expectations. Every episode has me creeped out and laughing tears simultaneously.
02. Fargo
Watch if you like: Oz, Fargo (the film) & Black Comedies.
OMG. Currently the best show on TV! Black Comedy is a sub-genre that needs more TV shows. It allows for more bending the rules as far as writing because it has more room to breathe than a typical drama. Fargo is done in the same style as HBOs True Detective; an anthology series where every season is like a mini-series with different characters + a different era and setting. The first season was great!
But they ****ing nailed it in the second season, omg EVERYTHING is perfect. The characters, the writing, the cinematography. I can't go deeper without major spoilers but omg. Just, watch this and catch up. Do not be surprised when this picks up traction like that other show you couldn't go anywhere without hearing about it; because it will.

And... Drum-roll....
...
01. The Shield
Watch if you like: The Wire, HIGH INTENSITY Dramas/Crime Dramas
Holy ****, watching this show killed me, and that's why it's #1. It follows LAPD Detective Vic Mackey and his strike force (that works in the Gang/Drug unit). He's a corrupt cop who really doesn't give a **** about anyone else. For me, this is up there with shows like Breaking Bad, it's not The Wire but it can be in the conversation.
The performances, the story-lines... You will never see Anthony Anderson the same once you've seen him as stone cold drug lord (yes, ANTHONY ANDERSON plays a SCARY drug lord) Antwon Mitchell. But besides that, the supporting story-lines just make everything better. An officer dealing with the fact he's gay, detectives Dutch & Wyms are probably the best characters and they're supporting!! The unit's Captain Aceveda even has a story line that, really hits hard and makes you say "hmm". That's all I'll say.
It's not doom and gloom, though. There's humor (unintentional & intentional, but it fits) and most scenes are in daylight which I kinda think was intentional. Also, this is the show imo, that made FX the same league as HBO. There is no weak season, and it has THE BEST final season of any show (sorry Breaking Bad, you don't come close). If you were a fan of FXs Sons of Anarchy, this is basically 100x better than it in every way. Jax Teller don't have **** on Vic Mackey as a cold hearted bastard. Like... this show is crazy! WATCH. IT. NOW. OR ELSE!!!

What kind of twist...I wasn't expecting a show from the last decade.
The Shield is on my never-ending list of TV shows to watch, but I'll eventually get round since I adore The Wire.

EPs: Honorable Mentions
DJ Paypal - Buy Now [Bubblegum Bass, Footwork, Nu-Disco]
I really liked this EP but wanted to trim all my lists a little bit so it got the axe. Nice EP for Bubblegum Bass I recommend & I actually like this more than SOPHIE'S Product. Unfortunately I didn't like Paypal's album Buy Now.
Dej Loaf - #AndSeeThatsTheThing [Pop Rap, Cloud Rap]
Queen Dej!! The most "interesting" female rapper in a minute. I love her flow and just the overall aesthetic of her music. This EP was pure flames, I like/love almost all the songs. But she's starting to change her image up a little bit so we'll see how that effects her music but hopefully she keeps her original swag that made her stand out in the first place!
Freddie Gibbs - Pronto [Trap Rap, Gangsta Rap]
I was disappointed in Freddie's album because it was boring and some beat lagged on for what seemed like forever & his technical rapping is stagnant at this point but this EP is HOT! 3 little songs as a 'preview' to what ended up being his album Shadow of a Doubt.
Tech Girl - Trade [Synthpop, Future Funk]
My favorite king of Vaporwave was so unbelievably dead this year but there was one release that got my attention!! Tech Girl isn't doing anything new here (80s pop samples with cut n paste of other cool sounds) but lots of people do that and their projects suck so she makes it work. She dropped some other stuff that's more original Electronic music and not "collage music".
Holly Waxwing - Peach Winks [Bubblegum Bass, Microhouse]
This was a cute find while browsing Stereogum. No vocals here and not anything particularly new but it's one of my favorite B.B. projects to date (I tend to prefer singular songs in B.B. most of the time).

Ahh I'll probably wait for the blu-ray release.

I like the plot twist of the Shield being number one. I really want to get into it (like all these shows tbh
I'm really bad about keeping up with EPs. But I did like Freddie Gibbs's album.
I'll try out DJ Paypal and Dej first.

I only know Sharon Van Etten! I liked it, but yeah it's pretty much just expected. Her album from last year is still so beautiful though.
