Very impressive. I’m shocked a possible #1 debut still hasn’t been mentioned.

I’m certain he would have gotten the top spot hadn’t they added the On-Demand Songs chart, thanks to which streaming data now carries a greater weight. ‘We Are Young’ is currently spending its third week on top of the chart.

Anyway I don't see a #1 debut happening, Fun.'s sales and airplay is just too massive. I'm just glad he's debuting in the top 3 making it his highest charting single and since radios are supporting it, it's going to have longevity

Wait for the rolling effect first, because with such huge first week updates, it will take a while for it to stabilize and starting gaining again. Does he have a radio deal?

Until recently, I was convinced that 'Baby' peaked at #3. A top three debut is more than great.

Radios didn't report anything about a deal, which they usually do so i'd say no. Of course the rolling effect will affect it but i'm sure it's gonna pick up again.

Wonder how much We Are Young will be selling, cause Boyfriend is definitely gonna be at least #2. Have a feeling the fight for #1 is going to be pretty damn close if he gets anywhere around 430k.

I still think a #1 debut is possible. Based on iTunes popularity, Fun. will likely sell about 70-75% of Justin. If Justin sells 450 which seems very possible if he already sold more than 300.. 75% would put Fun at 337k..and they honestly might be less than that. Their Mediabase AI is about 113 but probably more like 100 on BDS that Billboard uses.. so that alone already puts Bieber slightly ahead.. and he's bound to be ahead on streaming as well. Not to mention his AI by Wednesday could be about 20 mil.

Under the old Hot 100 system it would look like

Bieber 450+20=470
Fun 337+100 = 437

Not even close under that scenario..

His AI is already at 22m and I think Fun are ahead on streaming, it's going to be close for sure.

Not everything is always made public. We didn’t know Katy had a radio deal for ‘Part of Me’ until two weeks after the release (in her defense, it wasn’t a full radio deal like ‘Born This Way’/’You Da One’/’Give Me All Your Luvin’’ though.)

I have never seen such huge first week updates without a deal. It’s not like he was even close to being a radio favorite.

Idk but if he sells around 450k and still doesn't hit #1, I'll feel so bad for him!

Technically, we didn't know BTW had a radio deal either. It was never confirmed by anyone. But with the updates it got, it was impossible to be completely down to hype. I agree that just because something isn't made public, it doesn't mean it isn't true. Justin has never been big on radio, so to be managing updates like 3 definitely suggests some sort of radio deal.

I'm pretty sure it was reported that hundreds of radio stations would play BTW every hour before the song was even out. Didn't she get 80m AI in like 4 days? It couldn't get any more obvious than that.
